Imprivata PatientSecure aims to eliminate patient misidentification at all points of care by integrating its identification platform into EHR and admission, discharge and transfer systems. The goal is to embed positive patient identification directly within a healthcare organization’s technical workflow.

However, this solution relies on staff awareness and patient enrollment. To address this issue, the company has rolled out the Imprivata PatientSecure Customer Adoption Program. This program is a deployment methodology that customizes adoption strategies for each health system implementing the platform.

“While technology is critical in solving the patient misidentification crisis, it needs to be combined with a proven adoption strategy to ensure that patients are identified successfully each and every time,” said Carina Edwards, senior vice president of customer experience at Imprivata.
