Rock Health, a seed fund that supports digital health startups, conducted its fourth annual survey on consumers attitudes toward digital health for its report titled “Beyond Wellness For the Healthy: Digital Health Consumer Adoption 2018.” More than 4,000 U.S. consumers over the age of 18 responded to the survey.
Five common digital health functions consumers used in 2018. For comparison over time, user adoption rates from 2015 are included in parentheses:
1. Live video telemedicine: 34 percent (up from 7 percent in 2015)
2. Wearables: 33 percent (up from 13 percent)
3. Mobile tracking: 23 percent (up from 18 percent)
4. Online provider reviews: 64 percent (up from 50 percent)
5. Online health information: 80 percent (up from 71 percent)
