Health 2.0, which focuses on healthcare technology, launched its first conference in 2007. Today, it holds three annual conferences in the United States, alongside others in Asia and Europe.

The Health 2.0 business unit will help HIMSS develop a stronger focus on digital health startup technologies, according to a news release. HIMSS does not plan to change the scope or type of conferences presented by Health 2.0.

Health 2.0 CEO and Co-Chairman Indu Subaiya, MD, will join HIMSS as executive vice president for the Health 2.0 business unit. Dr. Subaiya and Health 2.0 Co-Chairman Matthew Holt will continue to host various Health 2.0 conferences.
