Health IT Standards Committee Chooses Vocabulary Standards for EHRs

The Health IT Standards Committee has established a single set of vocabulary standards and an implementation guide for quality reporting measures such as medications, labs and allergies, according to a Government Health IT report.

The committee plans to recommend to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT that these standards and guide be incorporated in meaningful use criteria for electronic health records.
