Health Information Exchange Market Accelerated in 2011

The second half of 2011 saw acceleration in the number of health information exchanges formed, according to a Medicity news release.

Medicity alone contracted 43 HIEs which included 22 new HIE contracts for 150 hospitals. The increase in HIEs supports National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Dr. Farzad Mostashari ‘s, prediction that HIEs would continue to grow  in 2012.
