Verana Health will use the new funding to build its team and to expand its platform. The platform utilizes data from clinical registries and EHRs and combines it with analytics to advance the development of new drugs and devices. The financing round was led by GV (formerly Google Ventures).
Mr. Kapoor comes to Verana Health from Tea Leaves Health, a healthcare data company, where he served as CEO. He also has previous experience as president of Everyday Health, a provider of healthcare media and services, and as head of the global payer/provider division at IMS Health, a global information and technology services company.
