Dr. Mazumder and his research team will develop two genomics databases, called BioMuta and BioXpress. The team will integrate existing genomics data into the databases and standardize the cancer terms researchers use. Dr. Mazumder’s goal is to bring together existing genomics data, which currently reside on several different databases and platforms.

“There is a lot of data already generated, and that data is growing exponentially,” Dr. Mazumder said. “Projects like this one will make utilizing that data much easier for researchers.”

The project will run from May 2017 to April 2020.
