Ginger.io announces patient behavior tracking collaboration with 6 academic medical centers

Behavioral health tracking company Ginger.io has announced a collaborative for tracking patient behavior and health outcomes with six academic medical centers, including UC San Francisco, Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Belmont, Mass.-based McLean Hospital, Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Medical Center, UC Davis Medical Center and Omaha-based University of Nebraska Medical Center.

The company offers a smartphone app and analytics engine with two platforms, one for behavioral health and one for chronic disease management.


While each provider is finding a different use for the service, applications include tracking health outcomes and depression, monitoring how patient behavior affects postoperative recovery, tracking readmissions, studying patient communication and travel patterns in relation to chronic conditions and other streamlining methods for care processes.
