SimSuite allows providers to quickly design and test a range of operational scenarios and understand the impact on patients, staff, capacity and cost. According to GE, the software can increase labor productivity in most cases between 15-25 percent and reduce capital investment for new facilities up to 20 percent.
The product was announced at the company’s second annual Minds + Machines Industrial Internet Conference in Chicago.
At the event, the company also launched a Cloud Imaging solution, intended to improve radiology workflows. Through the technology, images are uploaded automatically from imaging equipment to the cloud, where the images can be shared and viewed through an internet-based viewing platform, allowing radiologists and clinicians to access to the images at locations beyond the traditional imaging workstation.
Jeff Immelt, GE chairman and CEO, said the new imaging technology will “harness power of the cloud to share images among physicians worldwide.”
