CHCA’s products aim to increase OR productivity and patient satisfaction by using analytics to streamline the surgical process.

“In the operating room — the epicenter of today’s hospital — better efficiency in turn benefits patients by reducing waiting times, preventing cancelations and increasing patient throughput,” said Jan De Witte, president and CEO of GE Healthcare IT, in a news release. “CHCA’s Opera solution complements our current OR and perioperative software portfolio and will allow us to deliver a more integrated offering that better connects the workflow throughout the OR, using a mix of software, real-time data and powerful analytics to help drive better outcomes for patients.”

The acquisition of CHCA will be GE Healthcare’s second acquisition of an analytics solution provider this year. In January, GE Healthcare announced its plans to acquire API Healthcare, a workforce management software and analytics solutions vendor.
