The health system did not deactivate and collect the ID badge of Justin Robert Pace, the contractor, after his contract ended. The badge allowed him access to the facilities, according to the report.
Mr. Pace allegedly used his badge to enter the health system’s facilities for more than two months, where he stole nearly 40 computers, three monitors, 34 scanners and an overhead projector, according to the report.
A KIRO 7 report indicates no patient information was compromised due to the stolen computers.
Mr. Pace has been charged with 18 felonies and 14 counts of second-degree burglary.
