Former Sen. Jack Danforth to retire from Cerner board of directors

Former U.S. Sen. Jack Danforth (R- Mo.) will not run for reelection to Cerner’s board of directors.

Mr. Danforth plans to retire prior to Cerner’s 2017 annual shareholder meeting, which will take place in May.

“I want to thank Jack Danforth for his extraordinary service dating back to 1996,” said Neal Patterson, Cerner’s chairman, CEO and cofounder, in a statement.

Cerner also appointed Julie Gerberding, MD, to its board of directors. Through her appointment, Cerner now has 10 members on its board of directors.
