Former Epic engineers raise $3.5M for health IT startup Redox: 4 insights

Health IT startup Redox focuses on helping developers integrate with EHRs and health systems manage their cloud connections. The startup, founded by engineers formerly employed by Epic, has now raised $3.5 million in Series A funding, according to a HIT Consultant report.

Here are four insights.

1. .406 Ventures led the funding round. Flybridge Capital Partners and HealthX Ventures also participated, according to the report.

2. Redox aims to solve healthcare’s interoperability challenge. The company offers the RESTful API, which is designed to allow data sharing with nearly any EHR vendor.

3. Currently, more than 120 apps use Redox’s integration platform.

4. The Redox platform can serve as a single access point for cloud-based applications, according to the report. For cloud-based vendors, the startup can help them market their services to health systems.
