Three things to know:
1. Ms. McDonough announced in a Dec. 5 LinkedIn blog post that Fitbit’s partnership with WellCare is the technology company’s first collaboration with a Medicaid plan.
2. Along with the Fitbit device, WellCare enrollees will also receive educational materials and activity challenges through Fitbit’s platform to help members manage their diabetes.
3. Fitbit is also partnering with various Medicare Advantage plans in 2020; the company’s devices will be an embedded benefit in 59 plans offered by UnitedHealthcare across 27 states.
