According to the proposal, the FCC will attempt to move forward with a proposal that would fund telehealth at rural hospitals permanently, which would affect nearly 235 hospitals across the country.
The FCC is also seeking comment on whether providers that were also located in a “rural area” as defined by the FCC prior to July 1, 2005, should be grandfathered and permanently eligible for discounted services under the rural healthcare program.
