York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health has surpassed 1 million registered users on its MyWellSpan patient portal.

The online platform allows patients to schedule appointments — including virtual urgent care visits — complete electronic check-ins, manage billing, communicate with providers and receive text alerts, according to a Jan. 20 news release from the health system.

Launched in 2012, MyWellSpan is linked to patients’ electronic health records and operates on Epic’s platform. Epic recognized WellSpan as a top user of its available features, awarding the organization five MyChart Diamonds for its patient-facing design, according to the release. That recognition places WellSpan among the top 7% of Epic organizations for online scheduling utilization.
