Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine has launched a multiyear initiative to bring Lancaster (Pa.) General Health and affiliated entities onto its shared electronic health record platform.
The PennChart Integration & Expansion Program, or PIE, will move Lancaster General Health and its affiliated entities onto PennChart while adding new modules to the EHR, according to a Sept. 18 LinkedIn post from Penn Medicine Data and Technology Solutions.
Penn Medicine said the initiative is intended to further connect care across the health system by bringing teams, workflows and technology onto a more unified platform. The organization said the changes are aimed at supporting collaboration, streamlining workflows and creating a more connected experience for patients, clinicians and staff.
Project teams and subject matter experts across Penn Medicine have begun the design phase of the initiative. The LinkedIn post did not provide a timeline for completing the program or specify which new modules will be added.
