The Vaccination Credential Initiative, a collective of organizations including Cerner, Epic and Microsoft, hopes to begin testing its co-developed COVID-19 vaccine digital passport technology this spring, according to a Feb. 23 Kansas City Star report. 

Protected health information and pharmacy records belonging to nursing home residents at HarborChase of Mandarin in Jacksonville, Fla., were recently discovered strewn along the roadside in northeast Florida, according to a Feb. 23 First Coast News report. 

University of California Davis Health announced Feb. 18 it is joining Cleveland Clinic, Mount Sinai and Northwestern to advance a new digestive health EHR toolkit backed by the National Institutes of Health.

Epic and Cerner, two of the largest EHR vendors in the U.S., have deployed several new tools and initiatives to help healthcare organizations manage their COVID-19 vaccination programs.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson canceled all COVID-19 mass vaccination events, including Cerner's vaccine clinic on Feb. 16, due to winter weather safety concerns, according to a Feb. 15 Fox 4 report. 

The Government Accountability Office is recommending the Department of Veterans Affairs pause the implementation of its $16 billion Cerner EHR system to perform "critical" tests before deploying the system at any additional facilities.
