Cerner and Oracle jointly announced an agreement Dec. 20 for Oracle to acquire Cerner in a $28 billion deal. 

Oracle is negotiating to acquire Kansas City, Mo.-based EHR vendor Cerner in a deal that could be valued at about $30 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported Dec. 16. 

Four of the top vendors hospitals use to participate in the Medicare EHR incentive program are Allscripts, Cerner, Epic and Meditech, according to ONC data.

Epic is teaming up with MapQuest to roll out location and mapping services within its EHR system, the companies said Dec. 15.
