Five leadership, executive and board moves at Epic System and Oracle Cerner Becker's has covered since July 14:

The state of Connecticut has discarded a computer program it spent $20 million building for its health information exchange, the Connecticut Health I-Team reported Aug. 14.

Oracle Cerner added and expanded relationships with more than 161 clients from April to June 2022. 

Maria Romano, MSN, vice president of health equity and medical informatics at Brentwood, Tenn.-based Premise Health, is joining the advisory steering board of EHR company Epic.

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, the nation's largest nonprofit addiction treatment provider, is collaborating with EHR vendor Oracle Cerner and digital therapeutic platform Xealth to boost its digital health offerings.

As health data-sharing improves, but at a slow pace, the nation's largest EHR vendor, Epic, plays a big role in helping to create a clinically interoperable healthcare system. The company controls about a third of the U.S. hospital market share.

A psychiatry group affiliated with Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health has integrated a genetic testing app into its Epic EHR.

Kalamazoo, Mich.-based health system Bronson has received Epic gold star level 10 status.

Cerner has agreed to pay $1.8 million in back pay and interest over claims it discriminated against Black and Asian applicants, according to an Aug. 9 U.S. Labor Department news release.

A U.S. appeals court upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit in Puerto Rico against Allscripts, but noted that the EHR vendor is open to being sued in the U.S. territory, Law360 reported Aug. 8.
