Cambridge-based OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center launched an Epic EHR on May 4 as part of a $29.1 million investment in IT upgrades.

The hospital is the latest facility within Columbus-based OhioHealth to adopt Epic, improving data interoperability across the 15-hospital system. The health system is calling its EHR CareConnect.

“This is a transformational moment for Southeastern Medical Center and the patients we serve,” said Wendy Elliott, president of OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center, in a May 5 news release. “CareConnect will improve the quality and safety of the care we provide by giving our clinical teams immediate access to a patient’s complete health history. It also empowers our patients to actively participate in their care like never before.”

The hospital previously had a Meditech EHR. OhioHealth Physician Group outpatient clinics also went live with Epic on May 4.
