Epic sees biggest year for hospital EHR growth: KLAS

Epic continued to lead the electronic health record market in 2024, achieving its largest net gain on record as 10 major health systems selected the vendor for 108 hospitals — 67 of which came from just two organizations, an April 30 KLAS report found. 

Among smaller hospitals, Epic also dominated, with its Community Connect program enabling it to capture nearly 70% of all hospitals affected by EHR decisions in 2024, according to the report.

Here is the acute care EHR market share for 2024, per KLAS:

Epic: 42.3%

Oracle Health: 22.9%

Meditech: 14.8%

By percentage of beds

Epic: 54.9%

Oracle Health: 22.1%

Meditech: 12.7%

KLAS’ market share data is based on acute care EHR purchasing activity from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024.
