Cerner’s year-end bookings hit record high of $6.8B, up 16% from 2016: 5 things to know

Cerner posted its full-year earnings results for fiscal year 2017 Feb. 6.

Here are five things to know about the company’s performance.

1. Bookings in the fourth quarter were at an all-time high of $2.33 billion, representing a 62 percent increase compared to the same period in 2016. Full-year 2017 bookings were also a record at $6.33 billion, up 16 percent from 2016.

2. Fourth quarter revenue was $1.31 billion, a 4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2016. Full-year 2017 revenue was $5.14 billion, up 7 percent compared to one year prior.

3. For the full-year 2017, net earnings were $866.98 million and diluted earnings per share were $2.57, compared to 2016’s net earnings of $636.48 million and diluted earnings per share of $1.85.

4. Cerner posted $3.33 billion in operating expenses on $960 million operating earnings.

5. Cerner expects first quarter 2018 revenue between $1.31 billion and $1.37 billion and adjusted diluted earnings per share between $0.57 and $0.59.
