Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health is expanding its partnership with Oracle Health as part of a systemwide technology modernization effort that includes deploying AI-powered tools across its hospitals, medical practices and health plan.
The health system plans to implement an Oracle Health EHR system and Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent to automate documentation, improve interoperability and expand access to patient information. Baystate also plans to adopt Oracle Health Patient Accounting and Oracle Health AI Data Platform to support financial operations and unify data across its provider network and health plan.
The technology investments are aimed at helping connect patient care and operational functions, reduce administrative burdens and support onboarding efforts in ambulatory settings.
The health system also said the expanded Oracle Health relationship will support its plans to integrate Mercy Medical Center into its broader care network through a unified technology platform. Baystate Health noted that the corporate affiliation is planned for Nov. 1, 2026.
In addition, Baystate Health plans to implement Oracle Health Patient Portal, which will provide patients with a single platform to access health information, manage appointments, communicate with clinicians and receive AI-powered insights related to their care.
The expansion builds on a partnership between the organizations that Baystate Health President and CEO Peter Banko said has spanned more than two decades. Mr. Banko said the health system is seeking to modernize workflows and make healthcare delivery “easier, safer, and more connected.”
The move follows Baystate’s announcement that it would cut certain administrative roles. The health system did not specify how many employees would be impacted.
