American Hospital Dubai, part of the Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group, expects to launch the center over the next three to six months, Serif Beshara, CEO of Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group, said in a news release. The research center will use Cerner’s EHR data and clinical AI and data analytics tools to create Centers of Excellence for oncology, infectious disease and bariatric medicine.
The research center will focus on two main projects: creating home health experiences through telemedicine and remote patient-monitoring and improving care management of COVID-19 patients. By tapping into Cerner’s data analytics capabilities, American Hospital Dubai will be able to better understand healthcare needs of the UAE population and create personalized care plans, predict disease courses and incorporate risk assessment models into the EHR.
American Hospital Dubai is a 252-bed hospital and the inaugural member of Mayo Clinic Care Network, which connects independent health systems with access to the Rochester, Minn.-based health system’s medical experts.
