Tony Qualls, director of IT service delivery for AdventHealth, posted Feb. 3 on LinkedIn that the health system went live with Epic at its final five hospitals that week in the Denver area.
“A huge shoutout to the [Advent IT] team for their incredible efforts in delivering what initially seemed an insurmountable task,” he wrote. “Through collaboration and teamwork, they have succeeded in delivering a product that we can take pride in, ensuring we provide the best possible patient care.”
The 52-hospital system said in February 2020 it would be switching to the Epic EHR from its longtime vendor, Cerner (now known as Oracle Health), rolling it out at more than 1,200 care sites for a cost of $660 million. AdventHealth reportedly spent upward of $350 million on the implementation in 2022 alone.
“This achievement is a testament to the numerous hours spent in command centers, onsite trips to coordinate teams, and, most importantly, dedication to the #OneTeam spirit,” Mr. Qualls wrote.
