Verily names Apple Health leader as chief scientific officer

Verily, the precision health technology company associated with Alphabet, has named Andrew Trister, MD, PhD, former founding member of Apple’s Health team, as its new chief scientific officer.

In this role, Dr. Trister will be responsible for Verily’s population health initiatives, according to an Aug. 1 press release from the company. 

Prior to this, he was deputy director of digital health and artificial intelligence of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as founding member of Apple’s Health team, where he led clinical research and machine learning.
