Through the partnership, physicians can use Cera’s platform to refer patients to “carers” who will help them complete tasks at home.
Cera has also teamed up with Uber, which will offer transportation to carers and patients alike. Uber will offer its UberWAV service, which is wheelchair accessible, and its UberASSIST service, which is accessible to those with walkers and scooters, according to Engadget.
A spokesperson stressed that NHS doesn’t have a direct partnership with Uber. “We do not have any contracts with Uber to provide non-emergency patient transport,” a Barts NHS Health Trust spokesperson said, according to Engadget. “When patients need assistance getting to and from our hospitals, we provide ambulances and medi-cars, driven by trained experts.”
