The survey consulted more than 300 public health leaders across the U.S. to ascertain how their departments think about the value of data and how they are transforming digitally.
Here are three of the takeaway findings:
- More than 80 percent of public health officials surveyed said that the pandemic brought a silver lining by revealing an operational flaw in their system.
- Just over half of respondents said that modernization could bring improved, equitable health outcomes.
- Although many leaders acknowledge digital transformation is necessary, only 34 percent are pursuing bottom-up technical changes and only 10 percent are applying this to the whole system.
