Coral Gables, Fla.-based Baptist Health South Florida has received a $1 million grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to support its healthcare technology innovation fellowship for another five years.
The funding, announced Oct. 13, includes a 1:1 matching requirement and will support the Knight Foundation Fellowship in Healthcare Technology Innovation through 2031.
The yearlong fellowship, operated by Baptist Health Innovations, provides training, mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities for physicians, nurses, administrators, technologists, community leaders and entrepreneurs working to develop solutions to healthcare challenges.
The funding renews Knight Foundation’s support for the program, which launched in 2021 with an initial $1 million grant and focuses on developing healthcare technologies, products and services.
