The online clock, available at www.middlesexertime.com, allows patients to see which location has the shortest “door-to-doctor” time, and they can drive to the location with the quickest time, according to the report. The system is based on one a New Orleans hospital uses for six locations.
According to the report, studies have shown that patients frequently will drive to another location if the waiting time is shorter in the ER.
