The Wall Street Journal developed the annual ranking based on “founders’ experience, investor track record, amount of investments raised, growth of workforce and buzz about the company.” The list highlights 25 companies the publication believes will become “emerging leaders” in the technology space.
Here are the publication’s three healthcare-related picks:
4. Virta Health (funding: $75 million). A San Francisco-based startup that brands itself as an online clinic to “safely and sustainably reverse Type 2 diabetes” through personalized diets and remote care.
19. Babylon (funding: $85 million). A London-based telehealth company that connects patients and physicians in the United Kingdom and Rwanda through its video- and voice-enabled app.
22. Freenome (funding: $77.6 million). A South San Francisco, Calif.-based startup developing an artificial intelligence system to detect early-stage cancer from patients’ blood tests.
