Hackers are exploiting the flaw to install malware into government networks. The U.S. Cyber Command recommends users patch the vulnerability immediately to avoid exploitation.
The vulnerability can be exploited when a hacker has an Outlook user’s credentials, which can be obtained through phishing attacks.
It is unclear who has been exploiting the vulnerability; however, security researchers are linking the attacks to an Iran-backed cyberespionage group.
