The health system will implement software from ZeroEyes which sends gun images to the company’s team of U.S. military members and law enforcement, according to a July 18 news release from ZeroEyes. These teams will verify any threats and send law enforcement to the scene if necessary.

The teams can also provide the health system and law enforcement with visual description, gun type and last known location.

“Our goal is solid — to ensure our healthcare team and patients feel safe and are safe,” Mark Funderburk, CEO of UMC Health System said in the release.
