Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center began notifying 1,969 patients Sept. 11 after it discovered an employee accessed protected health information without authorization, a spokesperson told Becker's Hospital Review.

Employees are more likely to benefit from cybersecurity trainings with rewards, rather than those that reprimand them, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The Federal CIO Council will hold the first-ever governmentwide IT and cybersecurity recruiting event in Silver Spring, Md., this November in hopes to "fill critical skills gaps," reports The Hill.
