The technology giant did not disclose the scope of the vulnerability but confirmed that the app has been temporarily disabled while the company works to fix the issue. Apple is unaware of any incidents of misuse from the vulnerability.
Apple learned of the issue through an online portal that allows customers to report issues, according to WSJ. The Walkie-Talkie app was designed to allow users to send each other audio messages using a push-to-talk button.
“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and will restore the functionality as soon as possible,” Apple said in a statement.
