Here are lawsuits involving three hospitals and health systems as reported by Becker’s since April 25:
- On May 3, a patient-led lawsuit was filed against Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems for a January data breach that compromised the protected health information of 1 million patients.
- On April 26, a patient filed a lawsuit against New York City-based One Brooklyn Health for a November cyberattack that compromised patients’ financial information.
- A lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa alleges that Iowa City-based University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics installed pixel tracking technology on its websites that shared patient data with Facebook. The health system released a statement saying that it did not share confidential patient information with the social media giant.
