Connecticut's statewide HIE is live

The Connecticut State Medical Society's CTHealthLink, a statewide health information exchange, is live.

The HIE, which includes patient health portals, analytical tools and population health solutions, will allow healthcare providers to quickly and securely share patient information across different sites of healthcare delivery. These sites include health systems, physician offices, skilled nursing facilities, behavioral health facilities and federally-qualified health centers among others.

Providers will not incur any upfront costs for the CTHealthLink technology platform. They will only incur costs when they start using the platform and its services, but they will only pay for what they use. The HIE is a subscription-based model and no state or federal funding is required.

The Connecticut State Medical Society appointed a physician advisory committee that is currently working on developing foundational policies and procedures to guide  infrastructure.
