The touch-screen pump allows clinicians to upload infusion data directly into San Luis Valley’s EHR system. The smart pump system is designed to control the drip rate during infusion procedures, according to a Jan. 10 Fresenius Kabi news release.
“We are excited by the high-tech nature of the product and the focus on quality, safety, and work efficiencies,” San Luis Chief Nursing Officer Roberta Bean, MSN, RN, said. “This infusion system helps to relieve the pressure hospitals are experiencing with nurse resources because it’s easier to use, simpler to learn, and has a lot of safety features to make sure our patients get the care they deserve.”
