Cleveland Clinic Innovations launches digital healthcare product spinoff

Cleveland Clinic Innovations, the health system's business development arm, launched an e-commerce company to sell digital healthcare products directly to hospitals, private practice physicians and patients.

The spinoff, ADEO, is an online marketplace that quietly went live last October with 13 products like educational toolkits and apps from Cleveland Clinic and its partners. The products have to be licensed to third parties before going to market, according to Crain's Cleveland Business.

The website grew out of the Global Healthcare Innovations Alliance, a network of hospital systems, academic institutions and industry partners led by Cleveland Clinic and members including the Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic, MedStar Health in Columbia, Md., North Shore – LIJ in Hempstead, N.Y., ProMedica in Toledo, Ohio, The Innovation Institute in Pensacola, Fla. and the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind., according to the report.

"These aren't just any solutions," said Gary Fingerhut, executive director of Cleveland Clinic Innovations, in a news release. "These digital assets are conceived and developed by Cleveland Clinic caregivers and our alliance partners. The solutions on ADEO are proven to work within complex workflows and are designed to be integrated, streamlining practices to provide better care."
