The ChartWise:CDI software translates clinical language into the diagnostic language required for documentation and reimbursement. The crosswalk capability allows users to view the ICD-9 equivalent of the new ICD-10 codes.
“Most CDI vendors are focusing solely on the software they will provide once ICD-10 hits,” said Jon Elion, MD, founder and CEO of ChartWise, in the release. “What ChartWise does is enable clinical documentation specialists and coders to become familiar with the new ICD-10 codes now, by showing the ICD-10 equivalent codes to the user. This exposure over the next couple years will prove invaluable when everything changes over. With this in mind, we look forward to demonstrating the value of our new cross-reference functionality to the attendees of HIMSS.”
