Cerner and Truman Medical Centers are expanding their strategic relationship to develop and pilot innovations using healthcare IT to improve patient care.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based organizations have long been partners;Truman Medical Centers has used Cerner’s solutions since 1992. Now this expanded partnership seeks to promote opportunities to create and research technological advancements together.

“Our enhanced relationship takes the concept of the learning health system and expands its boundaries beyond our region,” said Charlie Shields, president and CEO of Truman Medical Centers. “Ultimately, we have the potential to impact care around the world, as we learn and progress together in Kansas City and then share our expertise with other Cerner clients, healthcare organizations and communities.”
