Blockchain activity in top universities continues to rise

Around 56 percent of the top universities globally offer blockchain and cryptocurrency courses, according to data by cryptocurrency training platform Coinbase and cited by the Cointelegraph.

According to Coinbase’s research, twice as many students are enrolled in blockchain or cryptocurrency classes compared to last year. Blockchain course offerings were up 42 percent in 2018 compared to 2017.

There has also been a spike in the number of student-run clubs related to blockchain technology.

Blockchain course offerings are not just limited to computer science students. The report found around 70 percent of universities offer blockchain courses to external areas, including law, humanities and economics.
