The app, which aims to give patients more control over their individual and family health information, allows family members to add their own health information to a connected pool of profiles of other family members.
“When you visit the emergency room or a new specialist with your child or elderly parent, it is more important than ever that you have their essential medical information, like medications,” Greg Pelton, MD, CMO for ICmed, said in a statement. “The doctor making decisions about your loved one’s care will often not have access to this crucial information when they are deciding on treatment.”
The app is currently available in iOS and online, with plans for an Android version later in the year.
