TRICARE participants’ records were stolen from a Science Applications International employee’s vehicle on Sept. 14. Sen. Murkowski has introduced an amendment to the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act that calls for the Department of Defense Inspector General to determine the risk of third party access to the stolen information and to recommend how to reduce the risk of future thefts.
“I filed this amendment for all the affected Alaskans, to get some answers about how this happened, what the risks are and peace of mind that better safeguards will be put in place,” Sen. Murkowski said in the release.
