Marietta, Ga.-based Wellstar Health System has incorporated AI to boost medication safety and delivery across its hospitals and facilities.
The hospital has integrated dispensing technology with infusion systems to create a connected medication management approach from the pharmacy to the bedside, according to a May 5 news release from medtech company BD.
The platform uses AI to provide enterprisewide visibility into medication inventory and generate insights to help clinicians manage supply, reduce waste and improve workflows.
The system also enables barcode scanning to transmit infusion orders from the EHR and return status updates, supporting more accurate and timely medication administration.
Wellstar said the partnership is designed to improve safety, efficiency and patient outcomes while streamlining clinical operations.
