Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care has surpassed 1 million clinical notes generated using DAX Copilot, now known as Dragon Copilot, an ambient AI tool that listens to patient visits and drafts documentation directly into the EHR.
Troy Foster, Stanford Health Care’s director of digital health, shared the milestone in a May 8 LinkedIn post.
“1,001,018 notes. 1,600+ clinicians using it every day,” he wrote. “And a journey that started back in 2020.”
Dragon Copilot is Microsoft’s ambient AI documentation platform designed to reduce clinicians’ administrative burden by automating note creation during patient encounters. Health systems including Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy have adopted the technology as part of broader efforts to streamline workflows, improve efficiency and reduce clinician burnout.
