Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and Microsoft are collaborating to develop a frontier AI model purpose-built for healthcare.
The model is designed to synthesize diverse clinical data to support earlier diagnoses, more personalized treatment decisions and improved patient outcomes, according to a June 2 news release from Microsoft.
Mayo will retain ownership of the model, and Microsoft plans to distribute it through Azure Foundry APIs, making it accessible to healthcare organizations worldwide. The model will initially be deployed within the health system’s clinical environment, where it will be continuously tested and refined through real-world use.
