Healthcare AI company Magical received high marks from customers in a recent KLAS Emerging Company Spotlight report examining early experiences with the company’s autonomous AI agent platform for healthcare operations.
The report, “Magical 2026: Automating Complex Healthcare Workflows Through Autonomous AI Agents,” is based on interviews with three customer organizations, including clinics and large health systems. KLAS noted that the findings represent emerging data and may evolve as additional organizations are surveyed.
Among the report’s key findings, Magical received an A+ for likelihood to recommend, supporting integration goals, and customers say they would buy again. It received an A for solution capabilities; and an A- for partnerships, according to customer feedback collected by KLAS.
According to the report, 100% of the organizations participating reported adopting the key functionality areas evaluated by KLAS. These included automation of complex, judgment-based workflows, measurable operational and financial outcomes, rapid deployment timelines, reliability in production environments, and interoperability with existing healthcare systems.
KLAS found that customers were using the platform to automate a variety of administrative workflows that have traditionally required significant manual effort, including billing and coding processes, patient referrals, and other operational tasks. Respondents cited goals such as reducing staffing needs for high-volume manual work, improving documentation accuracy, detecting undercoding opportunities, and automating referral workflows.
“Magical is an agentic functionality in the AI space that allows us to do full process automation without having too much human in the loop,” one health system executive told KLAS. “We’re currently using the solution for a billing and coding scrubbing workflow.”
KLAS researchers noted that customers viewed the platform’s operational impact as one of its primary strengths. In the report’s summary, researchers wrote that respondents believed Magical provides effective automation for healthcare workflows and highlighted high levels of partnership, expertise and transparency. Customers also cited the company’s responsiveness, implementation flexibility and hands-on collaboration throughout deployments.
“Magical comes in as a true partner,” one customer said. “They want us to succeed so that they can succeed as well.”
Another customer emphasized the platform’s ability to execute workflows reliably across existing systems without requiring extensive integration work.
“Magical’s strength is that they have agentic agents that work,” the customer told KLAS. “When we put Magical’s agents into the system and have them execute a workflow, the agents function the way they should.”
Beyond evaluating the technology itself, KLAS captured several lessons from customer implementations. Respondents emphasized the importance of defining workflows before automation begins, ensuring organizational alignment and establishing clear governance processes for handling exceptions and escalations.
Customers advised organizations considering agentic AI to thoroughly test platforms before deployment and ensure internal documentation and operational processes are mature enough to support automation.
“I would tell everybody that when they are using agentic agents, they are only as good as an organization’s defined workflows,” one CIO said in the report.
The report also outlined implementation practices that customers believe contribute to successful outcomes, including starting with a high-volume operational workflow, engaging subject matter experts early in the process, establishing clear success metrics and planning for scale beyond an initial pilot.
“This report reflects what we hear from our customers every day: that agentic AI, when built specifically for healthcare and deployed with real operational expertise, delivers results that generic automation simply cannot,” Harpaul Sambhi, founder and CEO of Magical, said in a statement.
The KLAS Emerging Company Spotlight program is designed to provide an early look at customer experiences with newly emerging healthcare technology companies. KLAS noted that performance scores and findings may change as additional organizations are surveyed and more customer feedback becomes available.
