Heritage Provider Network Awards $500K to Leading Team in $3M Competition

Heritage Provider Network, a provider of affordable quality healthcare, announced it has awarded $500,000 to POWERDOT as part of the $3 million Heritage Health Prize competition.

The competition challenged contestants to create an algorithm that could predict how many days a patient would spend in the hospital.

POWERDOT is a team comprised of data miners, researchers, information analysts and a hedge fund manager. It is currently the leading team in the competition.

Heritage Provider Network made the announcement at the Health Datapalooza Forum in Washington.
